MBE awarded to Professor Scott Murray, St Columba's Hospice Chair of Primary Palliative Care, for Services to Medical Science.

Professor Murray, a member of the Centre for Population Health Sciences, has been instrumental in developing end-of-life care for people with all advanced illnesses.

He has published more than 100 research articles, and helped develop policy on palliative care in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, as well as in the UK.

He has previously served as a missionary doctor in Kenya.

Professor Murray:
"I really want to thank everyone for the tremendous support and encouragement you have given over the last decade. CPHS is a great and stimulating place to work, and this award is an encouragement to further research, teaching and advocacy. Thanks so much for all the help and collaboration which has allowed us all to really progress forward on many fronts."
