Making an application

Once you are clear about the overall research topic/approach you wish to pursue, you should proceed to making a formal application. This will be considered by the CHS PhD committee, and a decision made as to whether a place can be offered.

If you have not already make contact with and obtained agreement in principle from a potential supervisor within CPHS, the CHS PhD committee will also establish if there is an appropriate supervisory team available.

To apply, please complete/compose/obtain the following documents:

  1. A University Application form, specifying School for intended study as 'Clinical Sciences and Community Health'
  2. A preliminary research proposal
  3. 2 academic references, dated on letterhead
  4. CV
  5. Degree & Transcript copies
  6. Proof of Funding

Please note that in considering your application the committee will take more account of your academic research potential and references than your preliminary research proposal. In any case, if you are offered and take up a place for PG research study, it is virtually certain that in the course of your early studies the 'application' research proposal will be developed/altered, reflecting both changes in your own ideas/aspirations and the advice of your supervisors.

Please send the documents specified above:
