Entry requirements
- Good second class honours degree (UK 2:1 or equivalent)
- Satisfactory academic transcript (interim if still on programme)
- IELTS 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each section (or equivalent), if applicable
- Strong personal statement
- Two good academic references*
- Academic results and work experience will be considered
If the basic requirements have not yet been met, but there is an award pending, we can consider your application and may still be able to make you an offer conditional on your achieving the requirements.
Applications
The deadline for applications for 2012 entry is 30th June 2012. Please keep in mind that it can take some time to gather documentation (especially transcripts and references), process the application, and return an offer to you. You should also allow plenty of time to arrange finances, visa and other practicalities.
You can apply online via the University of Edinburgh online application form. You will be required to upload evidence of meeting the entry requirements as part of the application process. We are able to review only applications which have at least a transcript (or interim transcript) and one reference attached.
We try to process applications as quickly as possible. Once your application has been received at the University, you should have a formal decision in two to four weeks. If you have not submitted all of the required supporting documents, this process may take longer. We will contact you as soon as possible to let you know whether we need further information or clarification from you.
*If you are submitting copies of your references they must be signed, dated and on headed paper. If you choose to have your referees contacted directly, you must supply a company-based email address (web-based addresses such as hotmail or Yahoo are not acceptable).
