MBChB (Medicine)

The aim of the Edinburgh MBChB programme is to produce caring, competent, ethical and reflective doctors who make the care of patients their first concern. They will be excellent communicators, able to work well with others, and prepared for increasingly complex and uncertain situations, for ongoing personal development, and for high professional achievement and leadership.

The 5 year MBChB programme comprises a series of courses and modules based on body systems and clinical specialties. The curriculum is integrated around 12 programme themes.

The Centre for Population Health Sciences (CPHS) staff contribute to teaching in all 5 years of the MBChB curriculum, about 12% of the total curriculum. More information for potential students can be found at Edinburgh Electronic Medical Curriculum (EEMeC) visitor section.
