Education and Research Training
CPHS offers an excellent environment for degree study and research training in public/population health, drawing on a long history of interdisciplinary postgraduate education in public health sciences and primary care.
- Taught degrees
- The Centre's flagship taught PG degree in public health is Master of Public Health. For over a century PG training in public health has been provided by our Centre (or its predecessor Departments/Division). Our MPH course continues this successful tradition. Graduates of the MPH programme go on to a variety of careers in research, academia health policy and public health practice, in many cases via further degree study (often having won scholarship awards on the strength of the MPH awarded).
- CPHS staff also contribute substantially to undergraduate taught degree courses.
- Research training (eg PhD)
- Research supervision within CPHS for a range of PG research degrees (including PhD study);
- Mentorship/supervision for career awards and research training fellowships;
- A range of research training & CPD courses.
- On-line PG degrees
- CPHS staff contribute substantially to two on-line distance-learning postgraduate degree courses offered by the University of Edinburgh, for students wishing to study part time whilst continuing to live and work in their home country.
