Usher Institute of Public Health

In addition to the creation of the Chair in Public Health, the University procured a promise from Sir John Usher that he would provide a building to house a laboratory and class-room to be used exclusively for the teaching of Public Health. On 11th June 1902, the completed building called "The John Usher Institute of Public Health" sited about a quarter of a mile across parkland from the main Medical Buildings, was presented to the University.
